Cultural Arts Contest

2007/2008 Theme ~ “I can make a Difference by…”

The Hackettstown Elementary PTA would like to invite all students in our Hackettstown Schools to enter the National PTA Reflections Program. This program is the most popular National PTA Program conducted annually. The Reflections Program provides the opportunity for students to express themselves creatively and to receive recognition in the following six areas.

Literature: Entries may be works of fiction or nonfiction. Prose, poetry, and drama are all accepted.

Musical Composition: Entry may be voice, instruments, or a combination of both.

Photography: Entry must be an original black-and-white or color image, or a group of images.

Visual Arts: Entry must be an original print, drawing, painting, collage, photographic collage, metal etching or punch work, fiber work, or computer generated artwork.

Dance Choreography: Entries must be original choreographed dance composition works recorded on a VHS or DVD.

Film/Video Production: Entries must be original works of fiction or nonfiction. Animation, narrative, documentary, experimental, media presentation are all accepted. May be with or without sound.

All entries must pertain to theme and will be impartially judged at the local PTA chapter level. Winners will then be judged at the County PTA level, and from there winners will possibly move on to State and National Level!!

Deadline for reflections entries will be November 30th , 2007.
